Description

The Ibanez AZ Premium 7-String is an electric guitar geared for performance where tonal flexibility is key. At the heart is a pair of Seymour Duncan Hyperion humbuckers with a moderate output. Made with Alnico 5 magnets, they maintain the clarity of the fundamental tone and deliver a clear pick attack when using distortion. A dyna-MIX 10 wiring system gives you ten tones to explore. Flip the Alter switch to go from humbucker to single-coil sounds.

Ibanez specs the AZ Premium with an American basswood body that’s topped with the exotic grain of poplar burl. The asymmetrical body shape contributes to playing comfort. Ibanez heats the roasted maple neck to increase the stability, durability, water resistance and tolerance of temperature changes; a smooth, oval C-shaped profile makes for comfortable chording and single-note soloing. It has a rosewood fretboard for a classic touch.

Gotoh provides the hardware on the Ibanez AZ Premium 7-string. MG-T locking machine heads facilitate fast string changes. The T1572S tremolo bridge features steel saddles and a machined steel tremolo block for a quick response and improved articulation; snap-in construction makes it easy to load the tremolo arm. With the guitar held in the playing position, there is one knob and one switch along the lower edge of the body. Closest to the knee cutout is the five-way pickup selector switch. Closest to the end of the body is the tone knob. The volume knob is located right above the five-way pickup selector switch. Between the volume and tone knobs is the alter switch.
